One cannot talk about the Modernist Movement of the early 20th century without mentioning Le Corbusier. Born with the name Charles-Édouard Jeanneret-Gris, Le Corbusier adopted the pseudonym name in 1920. During his illustrious career, Le Corbusier painted, designed complete cities, was highly experimental with architectural theory, and designed furniture.
Le Corbusier’s initial furniture designs were completed in 1928 while collaborating with Charlotte Perriand. These first pieces were tubular steel chairs, sofas, and a chaise, each of which is still popular today.
This Le Corbusier LC10 Table series is one of many of his designs that first exhibited at the Salon D' Automne in 1929. The Le Corbusier LC10 Table was designed in 1928 for the exhibition as part of the furnishing of the "Equipement interieur d'une habitation; des casiers, des sieges, des tables."
The Le Corbusier Table is available in many sizes, heights, and shapes for numerous applications. The table is constructed of tubular steel with polished chrome legs and a black metal frame with a glass top.
